A PSYCHOGEOGRAPHICAL LIGHT URBAN INSTALLATION

Context:Transite 06 is an initiative of the Government of Andalucía and the Association of Architects of Almería to celebrate the World Architecture Day 2006. The temporary urban project consists in doing a lighting installation over a party wall, located in one of the main squares of the city of Almería. The project provokes the discussion about the party walls dominance at certain points of the urban scene.
Urban interface: the installation is an artificial galaxy composed of dots (LED units) and vectors connecting them (optical fibre). Geometry, color and intensity are based on a psychogeographical plan of the inner city, that places the social nodes of Almeria and transforms them into information over the party wall. The work is an interface between city and citizens, decoding (in live) an invisible layer of urban life.
